A goal for each side would lead to a 1-1 draw between Vaughan SC and Sigma FC.

On a beautiful Friday night, both teams fought it out for the full 90 minutes taking turns possessing the ball and getting chances on goal.

An early chance for Vaughan came in the 11th minute when Austin Ricci was in on goal but was ultimately denied by Sigma goalkeeper Triston Henry, who did well to close the angle and make the save.

David Velastegui of Sigma had a couple chances first half as his shots were blocked by Vaughan defenders, or hit slightly off target.

Vaughan's best chance of the half was right before the half-time whistle, when Lucas Puntillo cut past his defender and struck a left-footed shot just over the crossbar.

The second half started with Vaughan getting a couple chances on goal, pinning Sigma in their half. Some notable efforts came from Zachary Drake and Puntillo.

Sigma's best chances came on counter attacks, notably one from Kadell Thomas, who was in on a breakaway until Vaughan goalkeeper Matt George did well to come off his line and palm the effort wide.

Sigma would open their scoring account when Charlie Anagho-Ntamark's (65') shot from a tight angle on the right side took a massive deflection off a Vaughan defender and into the back of the net.

Vaughan answered two minutes later when Ricci was taken down in the box as the referee awarded the home side a penalty kick. Dylan Sacramento (67') stepped up and finished in the back of the net to bring the match back to even ground.

Tensions rose after both goals as teams pushed for three-points.

Sigma's Tristan Borges almost got the game winner as his one-time shot from the rebound was denied by the diving goalkeeper George.

With this tie, Sigma remain in first place with one more regular season game, and Vaughan sit in sixth with two more regular season games left.
