Sanjaxx Lions came from behind to defeat Master's FA Saints 2-1 on a cold and windy day at Monarch Park Stadium, bringing them within a point of the playoff zone.

Masters Futbol's Maleik De Freitas  (5') opened the scoring after converting an early PK, given away by Sanjaxx's Keeper Rodolfo Aguiar.

Sanjaxx's Kimoni Bailey (25') cancelled out the early lead after a great pass from Dieu Merci Yuma.

Sanjaxx Lions found the winner as Dieu Merci Yuma (67') was one-on-one with the keeper and chipped Aguiar to score his fourth goal of the campaign and secure all three points.

In what was unsurprisingly an aggressively contested affair given both teams' need to close the gap on the playoff zone, Sanjaxx committed thirteen fouls while Masters committed nine of their own.

With the win, Sanjaxx Lions record improves to 5-7-2 leaving them in 10th place.

The loss for Master’s Futbol leaves them in 12th place with a record of 2-5-7.

Sanjaxx Lions will visit Bill Crothers Turf Centre, Unionville on September 14 (8:00 p.m.) to take on Unionville Milliken SC.

Masters Futbol will host North Mississauga SC on September 15 (8:00 p.m.) at L'Amoreaux #1, Toronto.
