The Oakville Blue Devils dismantled the visiting Sanjaxx Lions 10-0 behind a four-goal effort from Anthony Novak (12', 21', 25', 49') at a hot and sunny Bronte Athletic Field, Oakville on Sunday.

Logan Podrebarac (3', 45') added two goals of his own for the hosts, while Khody Ellis (65'), Stephen Ademolu (67'), Rajvir Khalon (75' PK) and Tyriq Armstrong (85') rounded out the scoring for Oakville.

Sanjaxx were outmatched from the start, as Oakville went ahead through Podrebarac in just the third minute on their first attack of the game.

Novak followed that up with a natural hat-trick in a span of thirteen minutes to effectively end things just a third of the way into the match - the highlight of which was the striker finishing off his third with a tap-in after some lovely buildup play.

Novak now sits four goals clear of FC London's Connor Wilson in the race for the men’s Golden Boot with 15 on the season.

Oakville keeper Lucas Birnstingl was rarely tested, but did well to get low on a powerful strike from distance in the 82nd minute to preserve his clean sheet.

With the match already well in hand, Armstrong slotted his first career League1 goal into an open net in the 85th minute to cap the rout for the hosts.

As a result of their victory, Oakville remains one point behind FC London for fourth place in the League1 men's table.

Next up for the Blue Devils is a match-up against the Woodbridge Strikers on September 2 (4 p.m.) at Bronte Athletic Field, Oakville.
