Alliance Keep Playoffs In Sight With Late Season 3-1 Victory Over OSU

Goals from Steve Furlano (34'), Jesse Assing (42'), Farrell Francis (45') and Nirunthan Sivananthan (85') led Alliance United FC to a 4-1 win over OSU Force.

Alliance United FC took control of the first half of the match, scoring three of their four goals in the opening frame.

Minutes after receiving a caution for delaying the restart of play, Furlano scored the first goal of the match. Assing would follow closely behind to increase the Alliance United FC lead to two and Francis' goal would follow just three minutes later.

Alliance United FC got three quick shots off in the box - the first were denied - but Francis managed to get the third shot wide and right past Jared St. Thomas to put his team up by three.

The visitors would manage to shut OSU Force off the scoreboard as the first half ended 3-0.

The second half would see a goal from each side.

OSU Force's Daniel Assaf (79') would put his team on the scoreboard and cut the Alliance United FC lead, but Sivananthan would come back minutes later to pad out the score at 4-1.

Alliance United FC, sitting in ninth place, continues their fight to place in the top eight in the men's division standings to earn a playoff berth.

OSU Force will next play Vaughan Azzuri on September 9 (3:00 p.m.) at the Ontario Soccer Centre, Vaughan.
