Woodbridge Strikers finished the women's division regular season with an undefeated record (9-0-3) after a comprehensive 4-0 victory over North Mississauga Panthers.

The uphill battle started very quickly for North Mississauga as they found themselves quickly battling to get out of their box, fighting off a hungry Woodbridge attack.

Forward Vladanka Gurovski created a lot of trouble for North Mississauga in the first half, repeatedly beating the Panthers' back-line to get four shots on target.

Regardless of the effort, the young Panthers were resolute in their defensive play and secured a scoreline of 0-0 at the interval that left both sides heading back to the dressing rooms to regroup.

The second half started with another Woodbridge attack, Vanessa Thompson (52') opening the scoring for the Strikers after dribbling down the wing, weaving between two defenders, beating the goalkeeper and tapping in.

Cathryn "Rocket" Rogers (55') extended the lead with a second goal minutes later after winning a scramble for the ball in the box. Gurovski (58') immediately joined the list of goalscorers when Christabel Oduro crossed the ball into the box and Gurovski controlled and booted it past the keeper.

A final goal from Francesca Famele (90'+ 2') in added time secured the victory for the Woodbridge Strikers and capped an incredible unbeaten season in regular league play.

The Woodbridge Strikers currently hold the title of 2018 Women's L1 Cup Champions and will now contend for the 2018 League1 Ontario Women's Championship.
