Austin Ricci (16', 63') bagged a brace at Hershey Centre 1 to register Vaughan Azzurri their fifth win in the last six matches, and give North Mississauga serious work to do to get into the 8-team playoff zone.

The first 45 minutes of play was relatively balanced and played largely in the middle third of the field, but it was Vaughan who found the net in the first half through Austin Ricci's strike from inside the box (16'). The North Miss keeper got his hand to it, but the shot was powerful enough to go in anyway.

North Mississauga started the second half aggressively to get back on level terms, but at the 60th minute Santos Mujtaba Ameen made his second bookable offence and was sent off, leaving his side down to ten men.

Just three minutes later, the host paid the price as Ricci (63') doubled the lead with a low drive from inside the box.

North Mississauga failed to create real scoring chances in the late going, and Vaughan began to grow in control of the game. The Azzurri could have scored at least one more goal, but ultimately the match ended up in a 2-0 win for Vaughan.

North Mississauga S.C's next match is against TFC III on August 26 (1 p.m.) at BMO Training Ground & Academy, Toronto.

Vaughan Azzurri will face FC London at McNaughton Turf, Vaughan on August 26 (3 p.m.).
