Vaughan Azzurri celebrated their fourth win in a row with a remarkable 10-0 result over North Mississauga SC to secure their place in the playoffs.

North Mississauga SC started the match off in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Vaughan Azzurri's 4-3-3.

Vaughan got the game off on the right foot. This half was completely dominated by Vaughan, with 18 shots on target and six goals scored.

It took less than 120 seconds to break the deadlock as Jessie Faber (2') beat the host keeper in an almost one-on-one situation.

Nour Ghoneim completed her hat-trick in the space of 27 minutes. She scored three similar goals (11', 20', 38') all with a tap-in after a low pass from the right side.

Vaughan's other two goals in the half were scored by Kiyani Beauty Johnson's shot from the inside (22') and Claudia Piazza's rocket (43') from the outside the box.

The second half had the same story as Vaughan pushed forward to extend the lead, pinning back North Mississauga in their own field.

Faber bagged her second of the game just seven minutes after the break in a one-on-one situation with the keeper. Two minutes later, Colleen Beesley (54') sent the ball into the top of the net on a cut-back pass from the left flank.

Johnson (62') celebrated her second goal of the game on a rebound, and finally Ghoneim (81') scored her fourth of the day and the last goal of the game with a diving header in front of an empty net to register a two-digit win for her side.

The game was totally dominated by Vaughan as they had 31 shots on target and 13 off; North Mississauga had only one shot on/ off target during the entire match, which was in the very last seconds of the game and denied by the bar after being redirected by the rival keeper Katrina Haarmann's fingertip.

This was Vaughan's best result of the season, scoring 10 and conceding nothing. Before that, winning 5-1 over Darby FC was their best victory. On the other hand, North Mississauga suffered their seventh defeat of the season after two consecutive wins.

Vaughan SC now occupy second place in the table and are secure in a playoff position, but will inevitably drop to third or fourth position in the women's table pending the final two matches with playoff bearing to be played by Woodbridge on August 19 and 21.

North Mississauga SC have one more match remaining in their regular season and will play Woodbridge Strikers next on August 21 (8 p.m.) at Hershey Centre, Mississauga.
