North Mississauga SC recorded a 1-0 victory on home soil vs Aurora FC to collect their third win of the season.

The home side started the match on the front foot when Jackson Bennett dribbled the ball out from the back and fired a shot that flew wide of the post.

From there, it was Aurora that began to dictate the flow of the game and gain longer spells of possession.

Just a quarter of an hour into the match, Madison Johnson beat her marker down the left, rounded the keeper, and directed her effort on goal but two North Mississauga defenders were their to make the goal-line clearance.

Aurora should have taken the lead shortly afterwards, when Markela Bejleri played a lovely through ball to Andrea Garcia who toe-poked her effort just wide of the post.

That would come back to haunt them as North Mississauga would take the lead when Carla Briscoe (27') was played through on goal and cleanly slotted her effort past Quinn Josiah in the Aurora goal.

The home side would enter the interval with the goal advantage.

The second half would play out similar to the first as Aurora saw most of the ball throughout.

Aurora nearly equalized on the hour mark when Amalia Kontolemos rifled her effort off the cross-bar but the linesmen had his flag raised.

North Mississauga came right back with a great chance to extend their lead when Briscoe did well down the left flank and played a cross in to the area to the head of teammate Julia Crnjac but Josiah made the save.

Aurora had two late chances to equalize when Andrea Meneses rose highest off a corner but Deanna Persico in the home goal made the save.

The final chance of the match came when substitute Natalia Casiello came just a minute from full-time with a header off a poor North Mississauga clearance, but her header sailed narrowly wide.

The match ended 1-0 for the North Mississauga SC Panthers.

With the win, North Mississauga (3-6-0) move to nine points on the year with an upcoming visit to Toronto Azzurri Blizzard on August 12 (3:45 p.m.) at Azzurri Village Main, Toronto.

Aurora FC (1-7-1) will prepare for a match-up away to Darby FC on August 7 (7 p.m.) at Stewart Burnett Park, Aurora.
