Vaughan Azzurri claimed all three points over Unionville Milliken after a second half comeback from Nour Ghoneim (54') and Cassandre Van Bakel (80').

Vaughan dominated possession in the first half, moving the ball around the field well and getting eight shots in total - three being on target.

Vaughan's Van Bakel sent in a cross that found Ghoneim, who took the ball down on her chest and volleyed a shot into the hands of Unionville goalkeeper Levanta Staggolis. Ghoneim would have other chances, one one occasion striking the ball just over the crossbar.

Moments later, Unionville's Natasha Klasios found herself with some space after she beat a defender, but her shot from outside the 18-yard-box was denied by the crossbar.

Unionville would go up 1-0 when a mistake from a Vaughan defender led to a pass being intercepted by Tina Lacava. Lacava then sent a through ball for Valentina Khan (31') who made no mistake finishing into the bottom right corner past Vaughan goalkeeper Taylor Grant.

The second half saw a lot of play in the middle third of the field, with Vaughan once again having the majority of possession and looking to equalize

A break would come in the early minutes of the second half as substitute Claudia Piazza's corner found Ghoneim in the box, who headed it into the back of the net for her seventh goal of the season.

Vaughan would find the net five more times this half. A go-ahead goal looked favourable for them when Rachel Melhado's long ball found Ghoneim, who flicked it on for Colleen Beesley, putting her in one v one with Staggolis, but she couldn't put it past the goalkeeper.

A late game winner for Vaughan arrived when Van Bakel beat Unionville goalkeeper Staggolis to a ball at the top of the box, slotting it past her to put Vaughan up 2-1.

Unionville almost got an equalizer in extra time when a ball was slotted past goalkeeper Grant and heading towards goal, only to be cleared off the line by the sliding tackle of Courtney Douglas.

With this win, Vaughan move past Unionville in the standings in a four-way tie for second.
