DeRo United FA manage to capture the three points after going head-to-head with Toronto Blizzard in Matchweek 8.

The Blizzard started the game slow as goals from DeRo's Alexis Kirton (34', 37') created an uphill climb for the ladies in red.

Despite a few attempts to attack, DeRo's defence kept them at bay, just past the halfway line. Attacks from DeRo lead by Cassandra Sribny, Vital Kats, and Sara Di Benedetto created enough space for Kirton to test the Blizzard's goalkeeper Michaela Hawthorn until she was able to find the back of the net on back-to-back strikes.

Despite two attempts on target made by the Blizzard, DeRo dominated the first half by maintaining a majority of the possession. The first half ended with a 2-0 scoreline.

Halfway through the second half Toronto Blizzard would find their opening as Jade Ellis (68') hit a strike from the top of the 18 yard box to reduce the goal difference.

The narrow gap did not last long, however, as DeRo United extended the lead in added time when Kats (90' + 1') placed a long strike in the corner of the net.

Despite the Blizzard having made five (three on target, two off target) attempts on goal, they were outdone by both DeRo's solid defensive presence and attacking power, which saw the visitors make 11 attempts (eight on target, three off target) on net.

The Toronto Blizzard are currently sitting in last place with a record of 0-5-0 while DeRo United are in fourth place with a record of 3-1-3 and hold 12 points.

Toronto Blizzard will host West Ottawa SC on July 14 (3:45 p.m.) at Azzurri Village Main, Toronto.
