The Oakville Blue Devils advanced to the Semi-Finals of the men's 2018 L1 Cup after defeating Masters FA 3-2 following a dramatic penalty kick tiebreaker (4-2) to break the deadlock.

Early attempts by Oakville's Filip Vilela and Anthony Novak were stopped by Masters' goalkeeper Spindon Koskinas.

A goal from Sahjah Reid (33') broke the deadlock of the equally matched teams, but the lead did not last as a free-kick by Rajvir Khalon (37') just outside the corner of the 18 yard box was the equalizer needed the send the game back into a deadlock.

The second half of the game began with the boys in blue dominating possession, resulting in a goal from Victor Gallo (61') from a fantastic volley into the top right corner.

Masters FA picked up the pace as they made long crosses down the wing to Jose De Sousa, whose ability and movement caused a lot of problems for the Oakville backline.

A goal by Shawn Brown (81') brought the game back to a 2-2 draw at full-time.

The draw was broken through a penalty kick tiebreaker, which Oakville secured by scoring four of their five efforts while Masters scored on only two of four efforts.

In order, penalties began with Oakville's Filipe Vilela (scored); Sahjah Reid (scored); Konner McNamara (missed); Jaden Woods (missed); Stephen Ademolu (scored); Bradley Fenton (missed); Carlo Difeo (scored); Jose DeSousa (scored) and Rajvir Kahlon (scored).
