Oakville Blue Devils secured a 4-0 victory vs Toronto Blizzard in fine fashion on a blistering hot Father's Day Sunday at Sheridan Trafalgar.

To the pleasure of the home fans, the Blue Devils bossed possession for large spells, watching their side put a modest four past Hawthorn in the Blizzard goal.

Within minutes of the opening whistle, Oshay Lawes was taken down in the penalty area which saw Mahira Ali (5') step up and make no mistake, grabbing her first of the night.

Ali was a problem all night for the Blizzard, driving straight at the away side's back-line and dictating play deeper through the midfield at times.

Blue Devils' keeper Claudia Eustaquio was forced into a save on 30’ when Anastasijh Trifunovik found a pocket of space and unleashed a shot from 25 yards out.

On 40’, Lawes did well to beat her marker forcing a save from Hawthorn before sending another effort over the bar.

Despite a few chances late in the half, the home side entered the interval with just the one goal advantage.

The Blizzard had their best spell of the match to begin the half before Ali (60') grabbed her second against the run of play, banging one in off the post from 20 yards out.

It was no looking back for the hosts as substitute and #L1OW 2017 All-Star Laura Twidle (68'0 scored off a deflected freekick.

It was Twidle (84') again to finish smoothly into the bottom right corner after a nice run from the midfield, concluding the match 4-0.

With the result, Oakville move to 2-3-1 on the season and will have plenty of time to prepare for a crucial encounter vs Vaughan Azzurri on July 8th (2 p.m.).

Toronto Blizzard remain winless and will now focus their attention to an L1 Cup quarter final matchup vs Unionville Milliken S.C. on June 24th (3 p.m.); the first of a three match home stand at Azzurri Village Main.
