Despite a late goal in the 87th minute for North Mississauga, it was too little too late to topple the lead built by visitors West Ottawa SC; the Ottawans took home their first result of the season after a 3-1 Matchweek Seven result.

The match began with North Miss utilizing a 4-3-3 against West Ottawa's 4-2-3-1.

Ottawa would start the match on the front foot, continuing to cause problems for the home side by keeping the ball near the top of the box.

Julia Bailey (11') headed home the opening goal past keeper Deanna Persico, who a minute earlier had made a spectacular finger tip save to force a corner.

West Ottawa would extend their lead before the half-hour, after holding midfielder Clarissa Larisey (22') controlled a ball with her chest, spun past a defender and slotted it under the rushing Persico.

After going down 2-0 early on, North Mississauga switched to a 3-5-2 after the additions of Kiana Khedoo and Alicia Levy.

The second-half continued to see West Ottawa dictate the style and tempo of the match. North Miss were not without their chances, getting close to goal on several occasions but connections with crosses inside the box were just slightly mistimed.

The second-half would also see both sides make changes to their keepers, with the home side bringing in Anna Maclean during the break, and Ottawa subbing in Imogen Bellinger in the 69th minute.

Both goalies were tested after they came in.

First it was Bellinger in the 76th minute, when substitute Sara Traynor had a great opportunity to put her team on the scoreboard as she sprinted by a Ottawa defender and went 1v1 with the keeper, but Bellinger made the big save to keep her team in the lead.

On the other side of the pitch, North Mississauga's Maclean made a acrobatic save a minute later when she denied Ottawa’s free-kick from 25 yards out.

West Ottawa would eventually make it 3-0 after Crystal Schuder (86') dribbled past a defender and fired a shot bottom right.

But North Mississauga answered back thanks to Traynor (87'), who cut inside the box from the left wing and slotted her shot just past the keeper to make it 3-1.

However, North Miss' late surge wasn't enough for the win and West Ottawa headed home with the three points and their first win of 2018.
