It was a total team effort from FC London men on a warm and humid Saturday afternoon, and the home fans were sent home happy after a comfortable 6-0 win over Ottawa South United, featuring three goals in each half.

In the early going, the teams were trying to impose their style of play.

FC London was moving the ball around and Ottawa South United was looking for the opportunity to counter. FC London soon started to dictate the pace of the game as they were able to get balls out wide and drive forward in numbers.

In the seventh minute, FC London was awarded a free kick ten yards outside the box and James Pucci stepped up was able to get the ball over the wall and on target, forcing Ottawa South United keeper Jared St. Thomas to make a great save.

FC London took the lead just before thirty minutes, when Parker Seymour played a lovely pass to Mohammed Nafar (27'), who calmly chipped St. Thomas.

FC London continued to control possession, but Ottawa South United demonstrated they can be dangerous on counter-attacks and set-pieces with aerial attacks.

FC London doubled their lead after Ethan Gopaul (37') controlled a ball into the box and blasted the ball past the St. Thomas.

FC London didn’t let up. They continued to push forward and, in the first half stoppage time, Connor Wilson (45' + 1') picked up the ball outside the 18-yard box and his laser eluded St. Thomas, giving FC London a 3-0 lead at halftime.

The second half was very much like the first. FC London and Ottawa South United were looking to the control the tempo but couldn’t create many scoring chances early on.

Seymour (64') continued to press high and was rewarded for his tenacity when he pressured St. Thomas, who tried to clear the ball and it deflected off of Seymour and into the Ottawa South United net. FC London had a commanding 4-0 lead.

FC London continued to move the ball around the opposition's 18 yard box and the ball came out to FC London’s captain Randy Ribeiro (79'), who smashed a shot to the top corner to make it a five goal lead.

In the 90’ tempers began to rise and FC London received two cautions - one to Wilson and the other to Ribeiro.

During extra time, Wilson (90' + 2') was able to pick up the ball outside the eighteen and unleash a shot back across goal that St. Thomas simply could not stop.
