Le Rohne Young (45' + 4') tucked away a penalty kick for the lone goal of the game, sealing a 1-0 win for Darby FC over the frustrated Sanjaxx Lions at Monarch Park on Saturday.

Kashiff De Jonge was bowled over in the box late in the first half, prompting the referee to award the penalty. Young smashed the ball high and in the middle over Tayjon Campbell for the deciding goal.

The events at the end of the half swung the momentum in favour of Darby, who ran away with the game in the final 45 minutes. The away side controlled the game until the final whistle. While they didn't add another score to their tally, they limited Sanjaxx to few chances.

Assistant Coach Remberto Luna was thrown out of the game after arguing with the referee in the second half. Saul Campos was shown a yellow card and a straight red immediately after for dissent in the dying minutes of the game, piling on more problems for Sanjaxx, who are winless in their last three matches.

To add to their woes, Sanjaxx captain Kemar Rowe left the game early after suffering an injury in the first half.

With the help of Darby's strong defence, Matt Zaikos cruised to his first clean sheet of the season. Although Campbell conceded a goal on the penalty kick, he kept Sanjaxx within striking distance with some highlight-reel saves despite the loss.

With the win, Darby FC (2-2-1) find themselves in 11th place with seven points. Their goal differential creeps closer to positive, sitting at only -1 (7 GF, 8 GA).

Darby's next match is against Toronto Skillz at Birchmount Stadium, scheduled for Sunday, July 8 (5 p.m.).

Sanjaxx Lions (1-4-1) sit in 13th place after the loss. They've earned four points this season with a goal differential of -4 (3 GF, 7 GA).

For their next match, Sanjaxx welcomes OSU Force to Monarch Park Stadium on Sunday, July 8 (2 p.m.).
