Pair Of Hat-Tricks Lead Sigma To 8-0 Win Over Ottawa South

Hat-tricks from both Marcel Zajac (7’, 36’, 58’) and Kadell Thomas (24’, 47’, 85’) led Sigma FC to a sweeping 8-0 win over Ottawa South United.

It only took Sigma FC seven minutes to get on the scoreboard, as Zajac scored his first of what would become three goals.

Before the end of the first half, Thomas also scored his first of three and Zajac closed out the half with his second goal minutes later.

Sigma FC started the second half with a three-goal lead but quickly increased it made it 4-0 with Thomas' second of the match just two minutes into the half.

Zajac and Thomas would each got their third goals of the match, with Giuliano Frano (66’) and Tajon Buchanan (88’) each adding one as Sigma FC put five goals in the back of the net during the second half and completed a commanding 8-0 win over Ottawa South at Quinns Pointe Field in Ottawa.

With his second hat-trick in as many games, Zajac has launched himself to the top of the men’s division goal leaders, with Thomas following closely behind in third.

Ottawa South United will head to Vaughan Grove to take on the Woodbridge Strikers on May 27 (1:45 p.m.) in Men's League1 Cup round two action.
