Defending champion Oakville Blue Devils saw their perfect record ended, but remain joint-top of the table with TFC III after Masters Futbol snatched a 0-0 draw at the LAmoreaux #1.

Masters started the match off in a defensive 4-5-1 against Oakville's 4-1-4-1.

The first half was almost balanced, but Oakville had more possession and an edge over Masters.

Both sides managed five shots on target, but Oakville's chances were more dangerous, especially Novak's shot from inside the area that went over the bar.

Oakville dominated the second half, pinning back Masters in their own half and creating some good opportunities; they hit the post via McNamara at the 60th minute and repeatedly were denied by Masters' keeper Koskinas.

A thrilling final ten minutes closed the match as Oakville pushed forward to find the net, while on the other hand Masters looked to exploit counter attacks.

A great solo run by Reid could have given Masters the lead but his final shot was an agonizing inch wide.

With this result, Oakville lost their 100 per cent record, although they kept a third consecutive clean sheet. Conversely, Masters is still without a win, earning two points from their two matches.

Masters next match is against Windsor TFC on Saturday, May 19 (8 p.m) at LAmoreaux #1.

Oakville Blue Devils will face Aurora FC at Stewart Burnett Park on Sunday, May 20 (7 p.m).
