Aurora FC registered a 3-0 victory on home soil against Toronto Blizzard to claim their first victory of the season.

Fans packed into Stewart Burnett Park to watch their side put on a dominant performance.

Aurora FC came out flying when Markela Bejleri (3', 46') opened the scoring after her side worked a lovely set piece to find her free in the area.

The only chance of the half for the Blizzard came in the 31st minute when Daliisah Spence carried the ball out of the back and fed Madeline Skinner who tested Meaghan Phillips in the Aurora goal.

At the half the score was 1-0 for the home side.

Aurora started the second half similar to the first when Bejleri grabbed her second just after the restart, slotting it home from six yards out – doing well to keep her composure.

In the 59th minute, Bejleri should have had her hat-trick when she was sent clear on goal but elected to pass resulting in the ball being cleared.

Aurora FC sealed the victory when Samantha Murphy (77') blasted her shot into the top right corner to make it 3-0.

With the win, Aurora FC move to 1-1-0 on the year while the Toronto Blizzard move to 0-3-0.

Aurora FC will visit league leading Hamilton United at Ron Joyce Stadium next on May 18th (8 p.m.).

Toronto Blizzard will host the Woodbridge Strikers on May 20 (3:45 p.m.) at Azzurri Village Main.
