Faria's goal (34') gave TFC III their first win of the season against a Sanjaxx Lions side that just couldn't finish their opportunities.

Sanjaxx started the game off with high pressing, getting the ball back quickly high up the pitch.

They dominated the game in the early stages, pinning back the rival into their own half and creating some good scoring chances.

On the contrary, TFC III looked for the net through counter-attacks and spot kicks. The only goal of this half was scored against the run-of-play by TFC III's Faria who beat the Sanjaxx keeper Campbell with a low shot from inside the box.

Sanjaxx came out for the second half looking to score. Just like the first half, the home team dominated the game and the visitor relied on counter-attacks.

Sanjaxx had two great opportunities through Copeland and Nikolic in the first ten minutes, but their last shots were a few agonizing inches wide.

In the last 20 minutes, Sanjaxx seemed to feel the fatigue and took their foot off the pedal, letting TFC III come a little bit forward. There was no real scoring chance in this period and ultimately TFC III earned their first win of the season; on the other hand, Sanjaxx again failed to score and lost 1-0 for the second time in two weeks.

The Lions will need to improve their finishing to turn their good performances into results.

Sanjaxx Lions next match is against Pro Stars on Saturday, May 12 (8:30 p.m.) at Terry Fox Stadium, Brampton.

TFC III will next face Unionville Milliken S.C. on Saturday, May 12 (6 p.m.) at Bill Crothers Turf Centre, Unionville.
