Four Goals, None Against In Darby Dream Home Opener

Darby FC beat Toronto Blizzard 4-0 at the Whitby Soccer Centre in their first game of the season. This win put Darby first in the women's division standings at the end of Matchweek 1.

Both teams started the first half with high intensity until a breakthrough by Illman (19'). Despite having eight shots on goal, the Blizzards could not get one past Darby goalkeeper, McGregor.

Darby had a great first half with goals from, Illman, Arruda (31') and Robiero (41').

It was an even game throughout the second half with Beverley (80') finishing it off strong by scoring a bottom right corner of the goal.

Toronto Blizzards fought hard with great saves from goalkeeper McGregor and great attempts from Bartosh, Skinner, and Nause.

This loss puts Toronto in the bottom half of the table after the first week, with many more games yet to play this season.

Darby FC will play Aurora FC next on May 5th at 5:30pm in hopes of another shutout. This game will take place at the Whitby Soccer Centre.

Toronto Azzurri Blizzard will play FC London next on May 5th at 7:30pm. This game will take place at London Marconi Club.
