Jade Kovacevic (31', 55', 64', 71') hammered away four goals to pad her 2017 Golden Boot winning total (her second in two years), while current Canada U17 player Kaila Novak (33') added one and keeper Emaly Martin kept the clean sheet, as London beat Darby 5-0 and capped off their title-winning season in style.

"From a results standpoint, winning back to back titles was excellent, but that being said we pride ourselves a lot on our playing style and a big thing for us is we always have a set game plan each game and executing that gameplan each match is a big thing," said FC London head coach, Mike Marcoccia.

Darby FC finish the season in tenth position, with eight points and a record of two wins, 16 losses and two draws. The team finished joint-seventh in goals for (24), 11th in goals against (81) and eleventh in goal difference (-57).

"I think overall this season we have had more games, especially against better competition, where we were more competitive," said Darby FC head coach, Mirco Schroff. "I think there was a different level of maturity."

"On the other hand, there were still those incidents that turn a game against our favour. Today we had a situation like this again. Within two minutes we had two goals against, despite the first half hour being fairly well managed by us."

"That crucial maturity needs to come in, as the team moves along and as the franchise moves along, because the first couple years you can get away with it being young, but after that you need to take it to the next level."

"I think overall Selah Hopkins is certainly always in the game and a threat," he added. "Half-way through we lost Tori Chia, who is a good midfielder for us and always consistent in her performances. Lauryn Arruda had probably the most minutes in the league, but possibly also to her detriment a bit because as a young player you don't always cope with it physically. I think this year was a learning curve for her, but overall I was very happy with the progress of these players from the perspective of having a future in the game and that is the main reason for us to carry on."

FC London finish the season in first position, with 48 points and a record of 15 wins, two losses and three draws. The team finished first in goals for (78), first in goals against (13) and first in goal difference (+65).

"Specifically going forward and developing younger players and bringing new players into the squad, a lot of it will be evaluating our performance whether we win or lose and that can always be better," said Marcocia.

"Where we make mistakes technically and tactically will be our focus going forward and it can always be better. Individual players can always do something to improve even when the result is in your favour."
