Shannen Jainudeen (10') and Chemara Walters (65') scored for Unionville Milliken SC while Lauren Kadet kept the clean sheet in a 2-0 end-of-season result for the visitors over Sanjaxx Lions.

"I'm not too perturbed about it because we have a nucleus that we can go into next year with and we just need a few other players to strengthen the team now," said Sanjaxx coach, Devon Porter.

"We are still working with the young girls and when we look at the age of the girls playing for the opponent we see that many of them are going to the nationals next week with GS United because these two teams have an affiliation," he added.

"These are women playing teenagers and so we are not bothered by the relatively close result."

Unionville team official John Williams said the match had the perfect characteristics for his side at this stage of the season.

"I thought that possession was good," he said. "It was a nice clean game and it was what we were looking for."

"For us we just wanted to manage the ball and see if we could make some better decisions moving the ball forward," he added.

"We didn't do a bad job of it, I just felt there was no real pressure and no real urgency on both sides. We took what they gave us."

"This year we got off to a really good start and that changed obviously with a number of girls going away to school. Some changes have to be made. This year we had some good quality younger girls come in and compete and I think next year we will look again to have a good run and see if we can finish a bit better than this year."

Sanjaxx Lions will next play their final match of the season against Aurora FC on October 8 at Monarch Park, Toronto.

Unionville Milliken SC finish out their season in fourth position on 33 points.
