Unionville Milliken SC strode to a 6-0 home win over Darby FC on Matchweek 21 and parked themselves in fourth position in the table.

"I think the girls had a lot of fun, which is what it was all about," said Unionville assistant coach, Glenn Faulknor. "They played well. They had to move the ball and find spaces, play for each other. They were able to do that and they had fun, which was the key."

"I think they had a young squad and the girls we had filling in today are a bit older, not like the last game we played, so I think it showed," he added. "It was a little more mature game from us."

Canada national program player Shana Flynn (58', 76') scored a brace while Kayla Goncalves (24'), Shannen Jainudeen (42'), Michelle Dell'Aquila (54') and Chemara Walters (67') added one a piece to complete the attacking highlights. Isabella Barbieri had the clean sheet for the victors.

"I think we have to be fair," said Darby FC head coach, Mirco Schroff.

"From the get go we were out-played, out-battled, out-matched across the field. Unionville was a much older team that moved the ball well and understood where opportunities exist."

"We had a gameplan going in and I think it was okay for the first fifteen or twenty minutes but we were sluggish. We just weren't anticipating, moving while the ball was travelling and all those factors obviously led to their ability to keep the ball, move into areas without pressure and open up channels. That really challenged us today and we never really found a way over the ninety minutes to escape that type of situation."

Unionville Milliken SC will next play Woodbridge Strikers on September 17 at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

Darby FC will next play Sanjaxx Lions on September 24 at Monarch Park, Toronto.
