Anthony Wright (58') and Andi Montina (86') potted second half goals while keeper Adam Majer held the clean sheet as North Mississauga SC cruised to a 2-0 victory over last place Pro Stars FC.

"You have to treat everybody, no matter if they are in first place or last place, with respect as your opponents," said North Mississauga head coach, Sam Medeiros.

"The hardest games to win, in any sport, are the ones where think you should win and your guard is down and your intensity is down mentally and physically. So my hats off to our opponent, they did a good job of holding us off in the first half. Opportunities were there and we didn't capitalize them."

"One of the reasons we couldn’t find our rhythm quickly is because we've lost a lot of players who have gone onto university, so our starting line up had seven new players," he added.

"It didn't help that last week the game was cancelled against Ottawa, so that left us in a bit of a disarray in getting the new players settled with the old players."

Pro Stars remain without a win in the 2017 season, but head coach Josef Komlodi explained the organization's main priority lies elsewhere.

"The way I've said before after previous games, is that we are using this league to develop players," he said.

"We just signed five players in Europe who were senior players and so our team is a really young team. Overall we didn't get the result, but I think we saw some good improvement from the younger guys. We currently have players who are 16, 17 years old and are having success using this league to develop them."

North Mississauga Panthers will next play Windsor TFC on August 26 at Hershey Centre, Mississauga.

Pro Stars FC will next play Sanjaxx Lions on August 26 at Avondale Stadium, Brampton.
