Durham United FA ran up three goals on Aurora FC at Pickering Soccer Complex on Friday night, courtesy of Cayla Cajilig (39'), Alex LaMontagne (49') and Tamara Brown (62'), before the away side snagged a consolation finish through Markela Bejleri (74') and the match finished 3-1.

Durham dug into their ranks of up and coming youth to produce Cajilig, who at only fourteen years of age was good value for an outstanding opening goal.

"It's always a tough decision to start a player as young as Cayla, she is fourteen," confirmed Durham team official, Chris Eveleigh.

"Last night after training I thought I might start Cayla tonight because she was fantastic in training, and this morning I woke up and thought 'yes, let's put her in.' That's a credit to her attitude and the whole of our club's attitude."

"Training is always at a high tempo and she took it into the game and it proved she is on fire. With that goal and how she took it, it was a real achievement."

Canada U20 forward Alex LaMontagne and 2016 League1 Ontario Defender of the Year Tamara Brown were next on the sheet for Durham, creating a scoring column that stands well for Durham's depth in quality, experience and youth.

With the win, Durham went level on points in fourth position with Woodbridge Strikers, but hold a game in hand on their rivals.

Aurora FC maintain their position in eighth place, but with the two teams ahead of them - North Mississauga and FC London - holding games in hand, Aurora will need a run of results to push ahead into mid-table.

Durham United FA will next play North Mississauga Panthers on July 8 at Hershey Centre, Mississauga.

Aurora FC will next play Sanjaxx Lions on July 8 at Highland Park, Aurora.
