Windsor TFC and Oakville Blue Devils clashed in a physical match in Matchweek Two, with away side Oakville Blue Devils ultimately claiming all three points courtesy of a Felipe Vilela (29') strike and a clean sheet from keeper Matt George.

"I thought we defended very well and Windsor put up a tremendous battle trying to get the tie and we knew it would be physical," said Blue Devils head coach Duncan Wilde.

"These are two strong teams and we went at it with each other but I don't think there was anything there that would be offensive to the game. I just thought both teams were battling to win the game."

"It was a little physical and I think some guys had a hard time adjusting to it, maybe backed down a little bit," said Windsor head coach Zibby Piatkiewicz.

"I think second half was much better. We had more chances, more scoring opportunities and so I think second half was good."

Oakville were looking to rebound from a tough loss to Sigma FC in their opener, despite a strong performance against the west division leaders.

"We came down with a game plan to pick up where we left off last week," revealed Wilde.

"We thought we played very well in the second half versus Sigma, and thought we deserved something from that game, so we came down here with the same game plan."

"I thought we played very well at the start and could have scored two or three today. We're quite disappointed to only have one."

Windsor had hoped to build off an opening day win over North Mississauga, but were ultimately undone by an incisive Blue Devils move.

"Our centre-back Jamar Kelly has been solid for the last two games," said the Windsor coach. "He plays really well at the back, he controls it."

"The way they scored today was from a counter. We lost the ball in the middle and the counter didn't allow us time to adjust on defence."

Windsor TFC next play Sanjaxx Lions on Sunday May 14 at Monarch Park, Toronto.

Oakville Blue Devils next play TFC III on Sunday May 14 at Sheridan Trafalgar Campus, Oakville.
