Darby FC looked to three different goal scorers to lead their offence and finish their premier season in League1 with a 3-0 result over Aurora.
Jayne Trebilcock (32'), Vittoria Greco (64'), and Milan Danford (66') each tallied for Darby in the match.
Aurora United was the first side to find the back of the net early in the first half, when Ellie Hayes (6') redirected a high corner sent through the box. Shortly after the goal, an Aurora United player suffered a head injury and the match was delayed.
Immediately following the delay, Trebilcock leveled the score 1-1 with a guided header to the far post.
Following the 1-1 stalemate at halftime, Darby FC scored two goals halfway in the second half to secure their victory. Greco came on as a substitute and netted the game winner within ten minutes of entering the match. Danford then put the nail in the coffin by making no mistake at the top of the box and increasing Darby FC's lead by two.
"I think it was a good game to finish off the season. A deserved win at the end, the girls worked hard. We had young players today as well, 2001s and 2002s," said Darby FC head coach, Mirco Schroff.
"We had these struggles with regards to having a lack of experience on the team but, certainly today they put it all together and finished the season in a good way," he added.
Due to numerous injuries and limited subs, Aurora FC was forced to play the second half short.
"The first half we came out well balanced on both sides. Unfortunately, the second half, with us playing with ten, the game shifted against us. It was not in our favour for the first portion of the second half," stated head coach, Arman Mohammadi.
"Eventually, I think we found our way and were compact and managed to make it as competitive as possible. On the whole, our girls competed well," voiced Mohammadi.
