North Miss got things started through goals by Gabe Gala (25') and Jose De Sousa (42') in their away match at Sanjaxx Lions' home pitch, Monarch Park, on Saturday, but the Lions clawed their way back in courtesy of a Timothy Cordova (30', 59') brace.

"I think the game was a very good game," said Sanjaxx coach, Devon Porter.

"All in all I think we fought hard and we came back into the game, and we could have won it at the end of it. But, poor choices, you have to finish at the end of the game."

North Miss have been on red hot form in the latter part of the season, but head coach Rick Titus was impressed by opposition's approach to the match.

"I thought that Sanjaxx were very well prepared for this game," said Titus.

"They had a good gameplan, and were defending one of our forwards who gets a lot of goals for us very well. They doubled him every time he had the ball, it was good defence from them."

North Miss had a penalty awarded, but Sanjaxx keeper Tayjon Campbell was up to task.

"I thought at that point we would have scored, and a little surprised that we didn't, but the keeper was very good," said Titus. "He played well all night."

"He's a young keeper, he looked like he was only eighteen years old, but he was fearless and came out and stopped a lot of plays. He parried stuff that was going wide or on net, he was very good."

On 29 points from 18 matches, North Miss is currently third in the west division. Sanjaxx Lions has ten points and sits in seventh position in the west division.
