Aurora United women put in another impressive performance on Saturday, downing Sanjaxx Lions 9-2 after goals from Sarah Stratagakis (25', 38', 49'), Meghan Reynolds (3', 45'), Lauren Raimondo (40', 51'), Kodee Williams (64') and Laura Marelli (83').

""I think they did very well," said Aurora assistant coach, Arman Mohammadi. "It was a good victory last week, another good one today, and we'd like to get two more to round off the season."

Sona Makulova (52') and Shayneisha Kelly (90') put home two strikes in the second half for the Lions, but it was simply not enough to catch the high-flying hosts.

"We came to get three points, had a plan to do so, and we did, so credit to the ladies," said Mohammadi. "Tough conditions with the heat and everything but they played well and did what we asked for."

"Second half they took their foot off the pedal a little bit, but that's fine and we'll use this result to continue momentum. It was a good victory last week, another good one today, and we'd like to get two more to round off the season."

Sanjaxx assistant coach Devon Porter identified difficulties that his team had in build-up as a key problem.

"I think my team did fairly well," he said. "We have to work on a lot of things like how to connect the ball coming out of the back. We need to pick out our man and pass the ball properly."

"The first half went downhill, but the second half we went uphill and I can take positives from this game," he said.

"We have things to work on and we will surely work on it, but all in all - I'm happy. We have young players in this team, three very young ones today, and I'm satisfied with that."

Canada U20 player Sarah Stratigakis scored three on the day, and was happy with the team performance on a day when the goals were flying in for the hosts.

"I think we were able to play good possessive soccer, and we were able to get lots of shots on net and opportunities to score, so it was a good game overall," she said.

"I think it is important that we finish our chances and be more clinical in that regard and I thought we just played well together and our passing was on."

"I got some great passes from my teammates and I was able to finish them."
