League1 Ontario announced its roster today for the Women’s All-Star game between Ontario’s best and a selection of top talent from Quebec.

The 20-player Ontario roster, selected by club coaches and league officials, will have a representative from every team within League1 and it will include two goalkeepers, six defenders, seven midfielders and five strikers.

The coaches to lead the League1 Ontario Women’s All-Stars will be Ron Clarke (Durham United FA), Michael Marcoccia (FC London) and Joe Parolini (Woodbridge Strikers).

"This is a great opportunity to showcase the talent that we have in League1 Ontario," said Dino Rossi, League1 Ontario Commissioner.

"The women’s division is less than two years old and already we’re seeing clubs across the world sit up and take notice of the talent coming out of Ontario. We expect to see a number of these All-Stars move on to greater things in the years ahead."

League1 Ontario Women’s All-Stars will be taking on a team assembled by the Quebec Soccer Federation, featuring a selection of the top female talent from that province.

"We are very excited to bring a mix of more experienced players with a younger group of developing players who will be gearing up for the Canada Games in a year’s time," said Jessica Silva, Quebec coach.

"With discussions of a future PLSQ women's league in Québec, we hope to expose our players to a quality match that they can one day dream to have in their backyards. We believe that League development is part of the foundation that is necessary for our players continuous development."

League1 Ontario Women's All-Stars will train together in the run up to the match. Look to League1Ontario.com for full coverage.
