A back-and-forth battle in Brampton on Saturday resulted in hosts Pro Stars sharing the points with visitors Aurora United FC after a 2-2 draw.

Pro Stars Erick Olazabal (10') got the home team off to the right start inside ten minutes, but Aurora bounced back well with two before the half from Gianmariano Della Serra (17') and Simon Adjei (43').

"We felt the two goals they scored, including the set piece, was pretty much unlucky on our end," said Pro Stars assistant coach, Stiven Mikhail. "Every chance they got they seemed to score. We were just dominating the game and so didn't really change our tactics too much going into the second half.

Pro Stars seemed in the ascendency during the second half, levelling the score at the hour mark through Courtney Mitchell-Smith (60').

Fortune appeared to smile on Pro Stars as Aurora substitute Dylan Rennie was dismissed in the 75th minute - 12 minutes after entering the match - but the Stars could not take advantage.

"They received a red card and so we did change up our formation late on in the match, using four substitutes," said Mikhail. "We got the one goal we were looking for, but were unlucky not to get the game winner."

Aurora head coach Jimmy Brennan had mixed feelings about his team's performance after losing the lead in the second half.

We wanted to keep pushing forward, even after going a man down, because we felt we were going to get further opportunities and could hopefully put one of them away.

"When we started the second half we were up one and we just wanted to manage the lead, and that's where we let ourselves down a little bit today - game management," he said.

"We were up 2-1, we were controlling and winning, and we should have held off, finished the ninety minutes and take the three points, but we let ourselves down with the second goal we conceded and obviously had a man sent off, which didn't help either."

"Overall I thought we did well, created some chances, and now we're looking to get ready for the next game."

Aurora United FC will play FC London next on July 16 (7 p.m.) at Sheppard's Bush, Aurora.

Pro Stars will face Woodbridge Strikers on July 17 (7 p.m.) at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.
