North Mississauga was again undone by an unfortunate defensive error, this time pounced on by Woodbridge's Christabel Oduro (45'), and lost 1-0 to Woodbridge in League1 Ontario women's matchweek seven.

"It was an evenly balanced game for the most part," said North Mississauga assisstant coach, Trevor Bertrand. "Opportunity again presented itself, but North Mississauga again failed to capitalize on a breakaway and other open chances. Seems to be the teams bogie, so it'll be back to finishing drills at practice."

"As the season progresses, the WSC experienced midfield players (Alyscha Mottershead, April Syme and Diana (KIWI) DaRocha), lead the way with great ball possession and patience and link nicely with our forwards, led by Christabel Oduro, along with Chanel Hudson-Marks and Vladanka Gurvoski," said Woodbridge head coach, Joe Parolini.

"In this game, North Miss. played more like a team than individuals and they supported each other, especially in the defensive phase of the game," commented Parolini. "The North Miss. midfield stood out to me as they constantly battled and never gave up in trying to close down the WSC midfielders. Their tenacity showed in that they were given four yellow cards, but that did not deter them as they kept fighting right until the final whistle."

In a match with numerous opportunities, but only one goal to separate the sides, both coaches understandable lamented their team's wayward finishing.

"Our biggest challenge in this game continued to be capitalizing on our chances," agreed Parolini. "The players are getting used to each other but it takes time to truly get to know each other both on and off the field to totally understand each other. Our goal is to promote our players to higher leagues and this situation will always be there as players come in and depart."
