Colleen Beesley (36', 45', 86') led the way for Vaughan Azzurri, aided by the single goal contributions of Sydney Hoareau (53') , Christina Morelli (18'), Samantha Marini (68'), and the clean sheet from Taylor Grant, as the second place Azzurri claimed an assured 6-0 win over Pro Stars.

"The Vaughan team put in a great team performance and were entertaining to watch," said Pro Stars head coach, Benjamin Falkenstein. "We were forced into last minute defensive changes as a result of injuries and we did not get settled until the second half. The Vaughan strikers punished our defensive errors which were numerous."

The understanding between the Vaughan players in attack was evident in the number of goal accumulated by the Azzurri, with Colleen Beesley being the main beneficiary on this occasion.

"Colleen Beesley scored three and created a tonne of chances with her movement without the ball," said Vaughan head coach, Carmine Isacco. "And our third goal, at the end of the first half, settled the result."

"But our biggest challenge was our work in the final third. The penetrating pass and finish. We need to be more aware of what's necessary to break down compact teams. We will continue to work on our pressing and going to goal."

But Pro Stars performance was not without some very clear highlights, and Pro Stars intend to use the performance to drive their ambitions in upcoming matches.

"Martina Loncar was very good on the ball, worked hard to keep the ball and start attacks," said Isacco.

"On a frustrating night when we were overwhelmed by a superior team, our young players Sami Falkenstein and Lisa Sullivan were standout performers," added Falkenstein. "Falkenstein's ball winning and pass completion rate were excellent."

"We play them again in the league Saturday and we will have a different lineup but we have nothing to lose as they gave not stumbled yet and are firm favourites," he added. "This will help our preparation."
