Durham went to second place Vaughan's McNaughton Turf and made a dent in the Azzurri's title-chasing hopes after a 4-1 win that included strikes for LeRohne Young (1'), Christian Moncrieffe (12'), Justin Gordon (73') and Kashiff DeJonge (90 + 3'). Azzurri's single goal came from the boot of Alon Badat (16').

"We had some very good performances today from all over the field but special mention needs to go to LeRohne Young, Christain Moncrieffe and Kristain Lee-Him," said Durham United F.C. head coach, Sanford Carabin.

DUFC: LEROHNE YOUNG

"All three players covered a lot of ground today and were integral in our third and final phases of our attacks. Defensively they pressed very well from the front and prevented Vaughan from getting into any passing game from the back through midfield."

"I thought their most dangerous player was Alon Badat," he added. "He scored their goal and was very difficult to contend with in 1v1 situations. He always looked a threat in the final third."

DUFC: CHRISTIAN MONCRIEFFE

Durham's win featured what may yet prove to be, pending an investigation by the League1 goals panel, the fastest goal ever scored in League1 Ontario's two year history, as LeRohne Young got Durham on the board in 15 seconds."

"Key moment for us happened in first 15 seconds," agreed Carabin. "Scoring that early in the game gave us a great platform to build on and dictate the tempo of the game. Although we scored a second shortly after we had to withstand a period in the first half where we were on the back foot but the early lead allowed us withstand this."
