Oshay Lawes got a brace and Bobbie Alvemaz a single en route to the Panthers' 3-1 victory over ANB Futbol.

"This day I believe our speed upfront, in particular Oshay Lawes, was a constant threat to the ANB team," said North Miss assistant coach, Trevor Bertrand.

NMISS: OSHAY LAWES

"She broke in numerous times and converted on one of the opportunities in the first half. Our defensive line held true and again Katrina Grigic was excellent intercepting passes and her positioning was excellent."

Despite the loss, ANB controlled much of the midfield throughout the match, and North Miss required a tactical change to get the win.

ANB: CAT RODGERS

"Michelle Covello and Cat Rogers controlled the centre midfield of the game, working tight combinations and keeping the N. Miss offence in check," said ANB head coach, Marcelo Almeida.

"It's amazing to see a unique partnership between the two considering there is a decade of difference in age (Covello – 2001; Rogers – 1991)."

"At half we wanted to adjust the midfield where ANB were winning the battle," said Bertrand. "We added a holding midfield, which nullified the threat through the middle."

The match was North Mississauga's last home match of the season. With two more matches to play, the Panthers have solidified fourth place. After having already taken home the women's 2015 L1 Cup, it has been a great inaugural year for North Miss.

North Mississauga Panthers is away to Sanjaxx Lions on Saturday September 26 at Monarch Park Stadium - 9 p.m. kickoff.

Meanwhile, ANB Futbol has a home date remaining, as well as a big match this Saturday September 26 vs Durham United F.C. at the Ontario Soccer Centre, Vaughan - 4 p.m.
