Kodee Williams and Cia Papadopolous scored late game tallies for the Azzurri to ensure a late comeback brought the visitors all three points, despite an early opener from Sanjaxx's Cooper Lee.

"Cia Papadopolous was quite the handful," said Sanjaxx head coach, Laza Lowe. "For us, again Juliana Fernandes and Julia Wong. They produced even better performances than yesterday as Vaughan plays a little slower tempo than Durham."

After Lee's opener in the 4th minute, Sanjaxx remained on top until the final quarter of the match. Lowe pointed to a forced personnel change as the key moment in the match.

"We were leading 1-0 until the 70th minute, and then we lost our central defender to a broken nose," he explained. "When we lost our central defender, and had to compensate as she was having a pretty good game, it was a big challenge."

Now having played 15 of 18 matches, Vaughan has 30 points and an outside chance of catching rivals Woodbridge Strikers - currently on 35 points from 16 matches - in second place.

Vaughan plays league leaders Durham United F.C. on Wednesday September 23 at Ontario Soccer Centre, Vaughan - 7 p.m. kickoff.

Sanjaxx Lions will retain home pitch advantage at Monarch Park Stadium, Toronto this Saturday September 26 as they take on North Mississauga Panthers - 9 p.m. kickoff.
