Strikes from Master's Tyrell Rayne (4') and Devonte Brown (21') put the game out of reach for visitors Windsor Stars. Stars' Martin Nyul pulled one back in the 32nd minute, but it was second half defensive organization from the Saints that ultimately won the day.

"We played two 1999 players (Christian Inchima and Levonte Johnson) and one 1998 player (Kamran Salehi) and their work rate was outstanding," said Master's director, Junior Groves.

"The tough tackling Kamran Salehi made it difficult for Windsor to penetrate our midfield, while Christian's presence in midfield put us in a position to move the ball effectively against an aggressive Windsor squad," he added.

As solid as Master's defensive organization was on the night, the Saints offence was also in high gear.

"Our two youngsters upfront (Devonte Brown and Levonte Johnson) had a wonderful night executing their penetrating runs and playing effectively off each other," said Groves.

"The speed of Tyrell Ryne also created a nightmare for the Windsor defence and his goal was a beauty that shocked Windsor."

Master's early goals changed the nature of the contest, and allowed the hosts a confidence and comfort to take the game to the visiting Stars.

"We put ourselves in a position to play for the win by countering the strength of Windsor," concluded Groves. "We played with a deep number 10 who defended well and stayed in-sync with what was need from our midfielders and centre backs."

Windsor Stars return to home pitch advantage at McHugh Stadium, Windsor, on Friday September 25 vs. Durham United F.C. - 8 p.m. kickoff.

Masters is on the road to the Ontario Soccer Centre, Vaughan, to play ANB Futbol on Saturday September 26 - 9 p.m. kickoff.
