Vaughan Azzurri and Burlington went head-to-head in midweek

Big wins on Friday night

Electric City and Scrosoppi both scored four goals each over their Men’s Premier Division opponents on Friday. Tomasz Skublak grabbed a brace as Scrosoppi beat North Mississauga 4-0 to move closer to the league leaders, Sigma.

It was St Catharines Roma Wolves who made the better start in their game against Electric City, going into the interval a goal ahead. Electric City kicked into gear in the second half with four different scorers finding the back of the net. The result leaves Electric City two points off a playoff spot, while the Roma Wolves are winless in four.

No points shared on Saturday

Playoff-hunting Woodbridge Strikers stretched their gap over mid-table Electric City in the Women’s Premier Division to four points after beating them 1-0 on Saturday. Sydney Brough’s first-half strike was enough to give her side their second victory of the gameweek after Jessica Lisi’s brace helped them defeat St Catharines on Wednesday.

Tecumseh and Blue Devils played out a five-goal thriller in their match up. The home side took a 2-0 lead in the first half before two goals from Stefanie Young levelled the tie for the Blue Devils, only for Teagan Handley to snatch victory in the 87th minute.

FC London defeated St Catharines 2-0 for their second win of the campaign, both goals coming in the second half. Meanwhile FC London men’s team bagged their first victory of the 2023 season at the expense of Unionville Milliken, winning 3-1 and moving onto five points for the season.

ProStars managed the biggest margin of victory in their 2023 Men’s Premier Division on Saturday in a surprise 4-0 victory over Burlington. The Bayhawks had been in impressive form and were clear favourites to win in the fans’ prediction poll, but a disastrous end to the game saw them concede four goals in eight minutes.

Alliance United did just enough to see off Master’s FA as Dusan Kovacevic’s second goal of the match sealed a 3-2 win to keep the visitors in touching distance of the leading teams. North Toronto Nitros condemned Darby to their fifth-straight defeat with Zakaria Abdi scoring the winner; the game ended 2-1.
