Former League1 Ontario standout Austin Ricci has moved to the Canadian Premier League side Valour FC.
The 24-year-old from Richmond Hill, Ont. signs with the Winnipeg club after a professional debut year with York9 FC.
Ricci made 11 appearances in all competitions for York9 in 2019 and recorded one assist, setting up Simon Adjei’s last-minute goal in Y9’s 3-1 win over his new club, Valour, at the end of the Spring season.
A speedy attacker, Ricci made a name for himself at Vaughan Azzurri, appearing 12 times and scoring six goals in the club’s League1 Ontario championship-winning 2018 season.
Having been released by York9 after the 2019 season, Ricci trialed with Valour this past Spring.
