Former League1 Ontario players have featured heavily in Canada’s Olympic qualifying provisional roster for the 2020 Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship in Mexico later this month.
A total of 17 former L1O talents made the 50-man under-23s list, highlighted by 12 former Toronto FC Academy players including Liam Fraser, Noble Okello, Jayden Nelson, Jacob Shaffelburg, and Julian Dunn.
Ryan Raposo, former Vaughan Azzurri attacker and fourth overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, also made the shortlist, which will be pared down to 20 players a week before the tournament.
The under-23s side will open the group against El Salvador on Saturday, March 21 before games against Haiti and Honduras.
