On an exceptionally Saturday afternoon in Ottawa, Ottawa South United and De Ro United squared up for a tough contest. Ultimately, neither side could find a way past their opponent and settled for a 1-1 draw.

Battling the heat in the first half of the match, both teams team stayed strong defensively, with much of the game being played in the middle of the field.

The pace was slower than usual and the teams look pretty evenly matched. With not much action happening in the first half, the score line remained untouched.

The game began to pick up in the second half with both teams coming out looking to get their teams on the scoreboard and take home the win.

After having several good opportunities, OSU's Beaudoin (71') struck a beautiful goal into the top right corner.

But, shortly after, DeRo's Livingston (75') beat the OSU defenders and chipped the keeper to tie up the game.

Tensions began to rise as both teams continued to press on, looking for the next goal. Both teams became frustrated as the tempo of the game had slowed again and neither team was able to create clear chances to score again before the full-time whistle.

With the draw, OSU take over fourth spot in the table - level on points with Alliance, but ahead based on the head to head tiebreaker - and are safe in the playoff zone with one regular season match left to play.

The draw leaves DeRo United in tenth position, only one point out of the final playoff spot, but this spot is currently held by Woodbridge SC. Woodbridge are level with Durham United on points but have one win more, which currently gives them the edge in the table tiebreakers.

Ottawa South United will next play Woodbridge SC on July 28 (1:45 p.m.) at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

DeRo United will next play Hamilton United on July 27 (5 p.m.) at L'Amoreaux Sports Centre, Toronto.

FC Oshawa defeated North Mississauga SC 10-0 on Saturday with the help of a five-goal performance from forward Arsenault (10', 12', 18', 52', 67').

From start to end, this match was all FC Oshawa. The scoring began in the 10th minute, when Arsenault would get her first goal of the match as she tucked away a rebound.

Just two minutes later, Arsenault would find the back of the net again after tapping in a cross. She would complete her hat-trick minutes later, after FCO put together a great string of passes to set her up.

Oshawa midfielder Makulova (23') would get on the score-sheet after sending a strike from distance into the back of the net. The home side would score once via Moser (41') to close out the first half with a five-goal lead.

The second half was much of the same, Makulova (47') scoring her second through a brilliant header at the front post. A couple minutes later, substitute Powell (49') would score a looping strike from distance to bring the lead to seven.

Arsenault would add her fourth and fifth goals of the match in the 52nd and 67th minutes with relatively routine finishes on one v one's with the keeper.

The last goal of the match was one of the best, arriving from Oshawa's Sullivan (72').

FC Oshawa will next play Durham United FA on July 26 (8 p.m.) at Kinsmen Park, Pickering.

North Mississauga will next play Unionville Milliken on July 26 (7:45 p.m.) at Paramount Fine Foods Centre, Mississauga.
