Hamilton United gave themselves a slim chance of making playoffs after a shock 3-2 home result over 2018 Champions, Durham United FA. Durham are now also on the outside of the eight team group of playoff qualifiers and will have work to do in next weekend's final regular season fixture.

Darby and Unionville split a share of the points after a 1-1 draw, leaving Darby safe for the moment in the playoff qualifier positions, pending results elsewhere. Much like Hamilton, the point earned gives a Unionville an outside chance of making the playoffs pending results around the league.

Hamilton United Elite kept their playoff hopes alive after a late game winner from Brynn Jurus (88') on Friday evening.

Teams shared possession in the first half with Hamilton United having the better chances on goal. Gabrielle Paupst (23') broke the stalemate after cracking a right foot shot from 35 yards into the top left corner of the goal.

Durham equalized about 15 minutes later when a fumble from Hamilton’s keeper Spagnolo gifted a rebound to Bianca Rea's (37') feet and she finished into the bottom right corner of the goal.

A great chance occurred towards the end of the half for Hamilton to take the lead as Angela Cutaia made a run splitting the back line and was in on a breakaway. She tried to dribble around the Durham keeper but was denied by the diving young 15-year-old Jenine Alkhatib, who made her League1 Ontario debut.

Durham struck first in the second half as Tamara Brown's free-kick was met by the head of substitute Alicia Tamburro (77’).

Hamilton’s Paupst (83') got her second of the night after a little back-heel flick goal from a Jurus cross. Jurus was a game changer coming into the match in the 77 th minute for her league debut. Her late winner was a result of burying a rebound from a Paupst shot.

Durham had their chances as well, striking four shots on target in the second half and six off target, but couldn't find a late equalizer.

Hamilton United Elite will next play DeRo United on July 27 (5 p.m.) at L'Amoreaux Sports Centre, Toronto.

Durham United FA will next play FC Oshawa on July 26 (8 p.m.) at Kinsmen Park Turf, Pickering.

Darby FC women’s team took on Unionville Miliken this evening at Clarington Fields, Bowmanville, but neither side could find a way past the other in a final 1-1 result.

In the first few minutes, Darby was not letting the ball leave Unionville's half. But Lauren Hogg (7') soon found a breakaway and took on the Darby keeper one v one, beating the keeper with a low finish in the far corner.

Darby dominated the first half but were unable to put the ball in the net. In fact, a majority of the game was played in Unionville's half and Darby had a rough time hitting the net.

After a brief pause of game due to lightning, the game started up again and Darby quickly tied it up with a goal from Twohey (85').

Twohey received an awkward ball from her teammate and with a close-up shot, she put it in the back of the net to finish the scoring on the night.

Darby FC will next play Oakville Blue Devils on July 28 (4 p.m.) at Sheridan Trafalgar Campus, Oakville.

Unionville Miliken will next play North Mississauga SC on July 26 ( 7:45 p.m.) at Paramount Fine Foods Centre, Mississauga.
