Oakville Blue Devils' talisman, Mahira Ali, was on form in Matchweek 10, scoring a brace to get the Devils a 2-1 result over powerhouse, Woodbridge SC. Durham and FC London re-staged their 2018 playoff battle and couldn't find a way past each other in the 2019 edition, drawing 1-1 at the German Canadian Club, London.

The Oakville men's side were also in action, beating a strong Sigma side 1-0 in Oakville courtesy of an Evan James strike. Over in Woodbridge, the men's side found a solid win over visitors Darby FC after Tyrell Rayne was on point yet again.

Oakville Blue Devils women bounced back from their loss last week to defeat Woodbridge Strikers 2-1 in Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

The opening minutes were balanced but Woodbridge had the slight edge by creating more in the attacking third.

Woodbridge’s April Syme (22') tapped the ball into the back of net after an initial save by Oakville's Rachel Yerxa to give the home side the lead. The opening goal awoke the visitors and they would press higher in search of the equalizer.

Oakville's first real goal-scoring opportunity came in the 33rd minute but Woodbridge's Zeeyana Jivraj was quick to shut it out.

Oakville finally found the equalizer when Mahira Ali (35') tapped into the back of the net after teammate Danielle Vis rattled the cross bar with a long-range attempt.

The Blue Devils came out strong in the second half as Ali (58') would find her brace and Oakville took the lead for the first time in the game.

Woodbridge fought into the closing minutes, including spells in possession, but failed to convert their chances.

Woodbridge will next play Aurora FC on July 14 (1:45 p.m.) at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

Oakville will next play Unionville Milliken on July 21 (2 p.m.) at Sheridan College Trafalgar Campus, Oakville.

Durham United FA drew FC London 1-1 with goals from Kovacevic (42') and Mitchell (87' pk).

The match started with Durham getting several clear-cut scoring chances but were unable to capitalize after a series of great saves from London keeper Gillet.

London would look to keep possession of the ball at the back but were unable to find a gap in Durham's back line and couldn't make any threatening penetrating passes.

London would finally unlock the game as forward Kovacevic (42') rounded the keeper after being sent through on goal and scored her 15th goal of the season, continuing her campaign as the league's leading scorer.

After half-time, Durham would come out of the break with much more offensive urgency and put London on the back foot for most of the half.

Many chances went by, including one in the 81st minute, when Durham substitute Tamburro hit the post via a thunderous strike from distance.

Finally, in the 87th minute, Durham midfielder Mitchell earned a penalty after a mis-timed tackle from a London defender and would eventually go on to convert the penalty and level the game.

The teams would finally split points after a fantastic mid-table battle.

Durham United FA will next play Alliance United FC on July 12 (8 p.m.) at Kinsmen Park, Pickering.

FC London will next play North Mississauga SC on July 14 (2 p.m.) at German Canadian FC Stadium Field, London.

A goal from Evan James (43') gave Oakville Blue Devils the three points on the day against a talented Sigma FC side, moving the team back into second place - only one point behind Alliance United and tied with Vaughan Azzurri.

The game began with Oakville controlling most of the play, as well as creating a handful of chances.

Sigma FC goalkeeper, Baj Maan, was tested on several occasions but responded well to any threat thrown at his goal. The breakthrough for Oakville came in the 43rd minute when Khody Ellis cut the ball into the box to find Evan James, and James’ shot took a deflection and bounced into the top corner.

Only two minutes later, Oakville were awarded a penalty kick after a handball in the box by the opposition. Rajvir Khalon stepped up and fired towards the bottom corner but Maan made a magnificent outstretched save to keep the scoreline at 1-0.

The second half saw Sigma start to press harder for an equalizer, but Oakville's defensive line and goalkeeper played outstandingly to retain the clean sheet.

Oakville also had a number of chances in the second half but Sigma's keeper, Maan, made a handful of outstanding saves in a fantastic game for the young goalkeeper.

After ten games, Oakville sits tied on points with Vaughan and a single point behind Alliance.

Oakville Blue Devils will next play Pro Stars FC on July 13 (7 p.m.) at Victoria Park, Brampton.

Sigma will next play Unionville Milliken on July 13 (4 p.m.) at Paramount Fine Foods Centre, Mississauga.

Super-sub Tyrell Rayne (67') scored two minutes after being brought on and clinched a crucial win for Woodbridge Strikers against Darby FC in the League1 Ontario Matchweek 10 finale on Sunday night.

Rayne dribbled from the right side into the box and made no mistake when he faced Darby keeper Matt Zaikos, scoring the only goal of the match at the Ontario Soccer Stadium, Vaughan.

More impressively, that was not the first impact from Rayne, who replaced Emmanuel Issac on 65 minutes. Rayne set up Ignazio Muccilli in another one-on-one situation with his first touch of the game, but the number nine could not make the most of the chance and beat Zaikos.

The match was always a tight affair, but Darby came closer to scoring in the first half, twice through LeRohne Young. The powerhouse forward found his first chance three minutes into the game, receiving a nice through ball from Jack Sears in the box, but his effort was saved by Kelvin Friserio.

He had another chance with just three minutes left in the first half, but his long-range effort from a direct free-kick was denied by the post.

Woodbridge Strikers looked good value for the win in the second half, controlling the majority of possession and making their domination count after Rayne's entry.

The win means the Strikers have now collected seven points from a possible 12 in the last four weeks, one more point than they collected in the first six games. Remarkably, their other win during that run (3-1 against Pro Stars) also featured Rayne scoring the winning goal after coming on as a sub.

Darby are currently seventh in the league table with 14 points while Woodbridge climbed to ninth with 13 points.

Darby will next play Aurora on July 12 (8 p.m.) at Whitby Soccer Dome, Whitby.

Woodbridge Strikers will next play FC London on July 12 (8 p.m.) at German Canadian Club, London.
