Durham United FA found a big win in Ottawa on Matchweek 8, while Unionville Milliken took their second straight win in as many weeks.

Aurora nearly took down FC London, but talisman striker Jade Kovacevic was up to the task with an important hat-trick to guarantee the points.

Finally, FC Oshawa took a big win at the expense of visitors and traditional women's division powerhouse, Woodbridge Strikers.

In an exciting match between the 2018 women's division champions, Durham United, and 2019 form side, OSU Force, tensions and expectations were high. In the end, it was Durham that would emerge victorious on the right end of a 4-1 scoreline.

The play was even for much of the early going, and both teams' defensive lines were working hard keep the score at 0-0. OSU's Carlini (20') opened the scoring by taking advantage of a rebound and putting the ball into the top left corner. The rest of the half remained scoreless as both keepers made big saves to keep their teams in the game.

In the second half things began to heat up as Durham came out clearly determined to get back into the game, which they did right away. Durham's Iozzi (55') volleyed the ball in the back of the net to tie the game and only a couple of minutes later (59') Copeland scored Durham's second goal to give them the lead.

OSU made numerous changes to try and find the player to unlock Durham, but they just weren't able to find the back of the net. Durham, on the other hand, were on a roll and scored two more goals to end the match via Torchia (72') and Knight (90').

OSU Force will next play Unionville Milliken SC on June 29 (2 p.m.) at Bill Crothers School, Unionville.

Durham United FA will next play Vaughan SC on June 29 (2 p.m.) at Kinsmen Turf, Pickering.

A Natasha Klassios curler and a Shana Flynn precise finish gave Unionville Milliken S.C. the 2-0 victory over Alliance United FC on Matchweek Eight.

It was a game played mostly in the middle third of the pitch, with very few chances created, though Unionville had a slight edge over Alliance.

The only incident of the first half took place when Natasha Klassios (23') curled the ball from the left corner of the box into the far top corner of the net, leaving Alliance keeper Stephania Turyk standing and watching.

Unionville would double their lead through Shana Flynn's (48') low shot from inside the box that slipped in under the keeper's arm.

After the second goal, Alliance tried to push forward and find a goal but they could not create any real goalscoring chance; on the other hand, Unionville had an opportunity for a third but Alliance keeper Turyk parried a Klassios strike from a tight angle out for a corner.

It was Unionville's second win of the season after earning the first last week against DeRo United FC and Alliance's first defeat after taking ten points from their last four matches.

Unionville Milliken S.C. will next play OSU Force on June 29 (2 p.m.) at Bill Crothers Turf Centre, Unionville.

Alliance United FC will next play North Mississauga SC on June 29 (2 p.m.) at Mount Joy Turf, Markham.

FC Oshawa took on the Woodbridge Strikers at the Oshawa Civic Complex on Saturday and kept all three points at home after a final score of 2-1.

The first half was very evenly matched, with nothing getting past either defensive line.

Makulova (22') took a long shot from outside the box and placed it just under the crossbar for the first goal of the game. Shortly after, De Jong (28') received a great corner kick from Rowe and headed the ball into the top right corner.

Woodbridge dominated the entire second half and were able to get their first goal in from Syme (54'). Syme received a great cross and put an equally great header into the top right corner.

Despite late pressure from the visitors, the 2-1 scoreline would hold and FC Oshawa claimed all three points over one of the league's perennial powerhouse sides.

FC Oshawa will next play FC London on June 28 (8 p.m.) at the German Canadian Club, London.

Woodbridge Strikers will next play DeRo United on June 26 (8:15 p.m.) at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

FC London stopped an Aurora FC comeback on Matchweek 8, thanks to a hat-trick performance from striker Jade Kovacevic, with a 3-2 final scoreline.

Kovacevic (28', 53', 85') continued doing what she does best, scoring goals, and scoring them in key moments in a game.

Throughout the match, Kovacevic was the main outlet for her team. At times it caused Aurora to assign more markers to the London striker, but that simply freed up teammates.

The extra pressure on their striker also allowed London to sit back and dictate the game they wanted to play, which was to patiently wait for openings to feed Kovacevic.

After getting on the scoreboard first, Aurora adjusted at halftime and leveled the game up at 1-1 off a tap-in effort from Julia Ruffolo (51').

Right away, London stormed back into Aurora's half and a well placed low cross from winger Kayla McQueen found Kovacevic for the quick bounce-back goal.

The London striker was called upon to answer back with another goal after Aurora again leveled the game up off a rocket from midfielder Cloey Uddenberg (75').

Both keepers played well and traded big saves to help their teams. Aurora keeper Phillips, in particular, made three outstanding saves to give her team a fighting chance.

FC London will next play FC Oshawa on June 28 (8 p.m.) at German Canadian Club, London.

Aurora FC will next play Darby FC on June 28 (8 p.m.) at Whitby Soccer Dome, Whitby.
