A brace from Vaughan Azzurri’s Ryan Raposo put an end to Oakville Blue Devils FC's perfect start to the season and helped Vaughan leapfrog Oakville into second place after a commanding 4-1 away win.

The match between two of the league's top teams saw Vaughan start on the front foot and open the scoring when Maksym Kowal (22') was played through on goal and smashed his finish just under the crossbar to put his team in the lead.

Oakville responded early in the second half when captain Victor Gallo (49') headed in a cross from a corner that had bounced along the crossbar and fell right to the centre-back.

A shocked Vaughan remained resilient, however, and midfielder Raposo (59') scored what would end up being the game winning goal after a nifty pull back to fool Oakville goalkeeper Lucas Birnstingl left the net wide open for Raposo to find the finish.

Only six minutes later Sameer Fathazada (65') found the net to put Vaughan up by two goals and fully in the driver's seat. Raposo (72’) put the game completely out of Oakville's reach after he finished off a nicely worked play at the back post to clinch his brace and the three points for his team.

Oakville Blue Devils will next play OSU Force at Quinn's Pointe, Ottawa on June 8 (5 p.m.).

Vaughan Azzurri will next play Woodbridge Strikers at McNaughton Park, Vaughan on June 9 (3 p.m.).

Shaquille Agard (19', 69') hit a brace at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge to help visitors' Masters FA past the Woodbridge Strikers in the last League1 Ontario game on Sunday of Matchweek 5.

The forward scored one apiece in both halves to seal the win, while Cristian Cavallini's (49') goal was not enough for Woodbridge.

The hosts made a fast start to the game and tested the opposition goal twice in the opening four minutes, one with a mid-range effort and then through a corner.

However, the first break came from Masters, who did well in their plan to find their target man on fast counter-attacks. Just a quarter into the match the visitors found Agard unmarked in the box and the number 10 had enough time to dribble the ball and manage a composed finish past Strikers' goalkeeper, Roberto Stillo.

The remainder of the first half was a tight midfield battle between two physical teams, but Woodbridge managed to come out strong after the interval. Only four minutes into the second half, Cavallini headed the ball in following a corner kick and leveled the game.

But Masters managed to hit their opponents on the break again, as Triston Frankson intercepted the ball in the midfield, then set up Agard in a clear chance. The forward was composed again, and dribbled past Stillo before coolly putting the ball in to ensure all three points would go back to Scarborough.

Masters FA will next play FC London on June 9 (3 p..m.) at German Canadian Club, London.

Woodbridge Strikers will next play Vaughan Azzurri on June 9 (3 p.m.) at McNaughton Turf, Vaughan.
