Darby FC men’s team took on the Oakville Blue Devils at the Whitby Soccer Centre on Friday night, with Oakville taking home the win after a 3-1 scoreline in favour of the visitors.

Oakville started off the game strong with a set-piece goal from left back Hitesh Joshi (7'). Joshi received a great ball off a corner kick and glanced it off his head and into the bottom right corner.

Oakville didn't have long to wait for their next goal, as midfielder Adrian Gallo (16') smashed a low, powerful shot from just outside the 18-yard box into the bottom left corner.

Oakville kept Darby on their toes for the majority of the game and were able to sneak one more goal just before the half ended.

Midfielder Evan James (41') received a high ball from his teammate and headed it into the top of the net, just above Darby’s goalkeeper, Matt Zaikos, reach.

Darby pulled one back after captain Joe Zupo (77') turned well in the box and hit a low ball into the bottom right corner.

Some good late chances gave Darby further hope but ultimately it was heroics from Darby goalkeeper, Zaikos, who had to make a highlight-reel double save in the 86th minute to keep the score at 3-1.

Darby FC will next play on May 18 (3 p.m.) against Vaughan Azzurri at McNaughton Turf, Vaughan.

Oakville Blue Devils will next play on May 19 (4 p.m.) against Aurora FC at Sheridan Trafalgar Campus, Oakville.

FC Oshawa won their first ever game after three second half goals from Megan Arsenault (55'), Nailah Rowe (73') and Jordan Burke (86').

The first half saw Hamilton United Elite control most of the possession with isolated chances for FC Oshawa. Both teams had great build up play but lacked the final product in and around the box.

The second half started with a similar tempo as Hamilton controlled most of the ball, but ten minutes into the second-half Arsenault opened the scoring for Oshawa after a cross from Alyssa Smith.

Less than 20 minutes later, Oshawa doubled their lead through Rowe who dropped the ball just underneath the bar at back post after a pass from midfield by Sona Makulova.

The goal to put the final nail in the coffin of Hamilton United Elite came four minutes from full-time after some solid work from Megan Couthino led to her winning the ball back and playing it to Burke, who calmly slotted home.

The FC Oshawa defense frustrated Hamilton for most of the night, as they limited their opponent’s chances in the final third.

Both teams now have 1-1-0 records after tonight’s result.

Hamilton United Elite's will next play Aurora FC on May 18 (7 p.m.). at Stewart Burnett Park, Aurora.

FC Oshawa will next play Oakville Blue Devils on May 18 (7 p.m.) at Civic Stadium, Oshawa.

Windsor TFC took on Alliance United FC in their first home game of the season and were defeated 1-0 after a penalty scored by Alliance's Nikola Stakic (23').

Both teams started off strong, keeping the game mostly in the neutral third, with both goalkeepers barely being called into action.

Half-way through the opening half, Alliance were awarded a penalty kick. Stakic placed a hard shot into the lower right corner just under Windsor goalkeeper Kyle Vizirakis' outstretched hand.

Windsor TFC fought hard to equalize before the half. Windsor nearly scored in the 38th minute with a chipped ball over goalkeeper Praveen Ahilan but Alliance's defence was able to head the ball away from danger. This would Windsor TFC's closest chance at scoring.

Both teams put on a good show as Windsor TFC's Tyrone Mulder and Noah Pio made valiant efforts and Alliance's Nirun Sivananthan and Nikola Stakic were clear playmakers for their team.

Windsor TFC will next play  ProStars FC at University of Windsor's Alumni Field, Windsor on May 17 (8 p.m.).

Alliance United FC will next play OSU Force at Mount Joy Turf, Markham on May 19 (2 p.m.)
