Woodbridge Strikers' Calaigh Copland (10', 41', 60', 61') was the story of the club's final match in 2017 with a four goal haul that drove Strikers to a 5-3 win over Unionville Milliken SC.

"She is great," said Woodbridge head coach, Dave Porco.

"She's one of the veterans and she never stops working. She would probably tell you that she's not the most clinical finisher, there were chances last match, but tonight it was really cool to see her finish on all her chances."

Aime Lin (58'), Chemara Walters (84') and Shana Flynn (88') got second half markers to put the result in question, but Woodbridge's young Tara Isama (79') scored an insurance goal to ensure the victory was firmly in the Strikers' column.

"Her and Ari [Rose] are great young players and when I first met them a year ago, I said these girls are going to be on the national team one day," said Porco. "They are proving it, they can play.

"We did try to make a few tactical changes at half and it just came to fruition a little too late with Shana scoring those goals," said Unionville assistant coach, Glenn Faulknor.

"They just kept plugging, which made me proud of them. They could have hung the heads and sulked but they didn't, they just kept playing."

Unionville Milliken will next play FC London on September 23 at German Canadian Club, London.

Woodbridge Strikers finished their season in sixth position on 29 points with nine wins, nine losses and two draws.
