A brace from Simone Chiodo (24', 30'), one each from Mackenzie Cavral-Rauti (13') and Bianca Rossi (53'), and clean sheet by Emma Chisholm was enough to earn Durham United FA a 4-0 result over hosts Sanjaxx Lions.

"The girls came out and got the job done, three points and stuck to the gameplan," said Durham team official, Arman Mohammadi. "We kept the ball and went from there. It's a good way to end the season with three points."

"The experience showed for us," he added. "Sanjaxx is a good team and a very young team. They are growing and we had some of our older players, who were able to show their experience and see out the win."

With three matches remaining in their season, Sanjaxx remain bottom of the table, but assistant coach Devon Porter saw much about their play to be proud of.

"I'm looking at two games - one team that keeps the football and the other team that scores the goals," he said. "It shows that our girls can play. They are young girls, fifteen and sixteen years old, and that's the way we're going to go."

"They played long balls in behind our backs and we tend to play out from the back to the front," he added. "We try to connect our passes and this is the way we want to go. We want to have attractive football."

"I'm not saying anything about the other team - they scored the goals and they won, and if we don't score the goals, we won't win - but we are happy with what we have seen going forward."

Sanjaxx Lions will next play Darby FC on September 24 at Monarch Park, Toronto.
