Cyrus Rollocks (57', 65') cemented his spot at the top of the TFC III scoring charts with a brace to lead the Junior Reds to a dominant 7-0 result over Toronto Skillz.

"We needed a little bit of a response from this group because, like a lot of teams in this league, we have lost a lot of players to university and it has depleted us a little bit," said Toronto FC III head coach, Danny Dichio.

"We've some players also moving up to TFC II, which is good - that's the pathway for them - but we've had to bring up a couple of youngsters and asked them to really get involved and play at a higher level pretty quickly."

"I've just asked them to play with a little bit more of a tempo and be more proactive today with the ball. I was happy with their performance overall. We scored a lot of goals and against a team that were very organized at times. We had to keep our patience and open them up. I was very happy with the overall result, but more with the overall performance."

Daniel Da Silva (14'), Matthew Srbely (29'), Jordan Faria (44'), Rocco Romeo (53') and Luca Petrasso (67') chipped in with goals as well, while keeper Gianluca Catalano held a clean sheet.

"We brought on young Jayden Nelson, who is a 2002 born player and a player that we feel has potential; Riley Ferrazzo, who played fullback; Noble Okello, who slotted in at centre-back although he is normally a midfielder; and I thought Luca Petrasso was very good for us today, and was instrumental in two or three of the goals," added Dichio.

"Some really good performances from some of the younger players today."

Toronto Skillz came into the match with a specific plan to deal with the high flying Toronto FC III side, and head coach Leslie "Tiger" Fitzpatrick was pleased with some of the experience his players got, if not the final result.

"At the end of the day we have a young group and this is a really good learning experience for them," he said.

"You need to be on the training field more than two or three times a week to work on deficiencies and play against a team like this that is training five times a week."

"We're trying to bring our academy players on and the big thing for us is trying to move players on. If we can get players to get this experience and move on to collegiate level and then onto the pro ranks than I think we are doing a good job. In the past year we have had six players move into the professional ranks, so for us that is the point of League1."

Toronto FC III will next play Windsor TFC Stars on September 10 at Kia Training Ground, Toronto.

Toronto Skillz will next play Vaughan Azzurri on September 10 at Birchmount Stadium, Toronto.
