Emmanuel Issac (14'), James Baker (17'), Dylan Carriero (36') and Michael Krzeminski (47') combined with a clean sheet by Quillan Roberts to give Woodbridge Strikers a dominant, if uninspiring, 4-0 victory over Pro Stars FC.

"We got the three points that was the only good thing," said Woodbridge head coach, Peter Pinizzott. "The game was ugly. Pro Stars were missing a number of players and we made it easier for them to stay in the game. We should have done better. The only good thing is the three points."

Woodbridge remains top of the east division and with second place team North Toronto Nitros and third place team Vaughan Azzurri both losing in Matchweek 13 - Woodbridge extends its lead to six points.

"We got a shutout which keeps us as the team with the best defensive record in the league, so if anything our back four and keeper did well, but this was an opportunity for us to score a few goals and build confidence."

Pro Stars are winless in twelve matches in the west division, and senior player Mann Slewa said the team is looking for small victories in their performance and periods of play to build upon going forward.

"I think we played okay to be honest," said Slewa. "We wanted to get a draw and so we played as defensive as possible, try to counter-attack, but we tried and tried and couldn't finish. Overall I'd say it was better second half. We played well defensively, were compact, played harder."

"Problem was we had too many players in different positions," he added. "We had a striker playing centre-back today and I thought he and others did well but at the end of the day the result was the opposite."

Woodbridge Strikers will next play TFC III on July 30 at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

Pro Stars FC will next play Toronto Skillz on July 29 at Avondale Stadium, Brampton.
